Restoration of Clock Movements. Copy of clock.jpg (5548 bytes)

All restoration work is undertaken in our own fully equiped workshop. The movements are cleaned, thoroughly examined and photographed before any repairs are carried out. During restoration, any replacement parts are manufactured using complementary materials, and the original pieces are kept so they can remain with the clock when it returns to it's tower. Paint colours are matched before being removed (if re-painting is necessary) and all iron work treated. Brass work is carefully polished to avoid the rounding of critical edges and then laquered. The Cumbria Clock Company is capable of cutting any new pinions and wheels on its own wheel engine up to 3 feet in diameter.

Once all repair work is complete, the clock is assembled, put on test and regulated. After we are satisfied that the clock is operating correctly it s returned to the tower, installed, tested and left in full working order.

If the clock is then properly maintained and cared for it should be many years before the clock will require any major attention.
